The Pasadena Baha’i community is delighted to host a presentation and discussion on Black Life
in Pasadena delivered by renowned documentary photographer, Brian Biery.
Brian has used his camera lens to capture life in all its beauty and complexity. He has a
captivating blog named “Power of One” that asks of each individual if they think one person
could really make a difference in their community, and change lives for the better.
His presentation is titled: How Our History Shaped Our Community – Black Life in Pasadena
Why is it important to learn our history? What does the history of Pasadena say about its
present condition? How do we work towards creating a more equitable and just community?
We will explore stories about Black Pasadena and discuss why they are still relevant today.
